Manaslu Tsum Valley Trekking is undoubtedly an ideal option for everyone who loves to explore something different and something uniquely great. The journey starts from Arunghat and the trail climbs uphill above the Budhigandaki River on the paths clinging precariously to the hillsides. Moving ahead to the north, the trail leads to beautiful alpine meadows and small Tibetan village on the edge of Manaslu. The trail then passes through the village paths decorated with Buddhist Mani stones, prayer wheels and floating prayer flags, finally leading to Samagaon, the largest village of this region. This place offers an incredible view of Mt. Manaslu when seen gives a feel of serene and peace to mind, body, and soul.

Tsum valley is the unexplored and right place to trek for those hikers who looking for less touristic and unspoiled cultures. Tsum means vivid against the majestic backdrop of the Sringi Hmanl, Boudha Ranges, and Ganesh Himal, this serene Himalayan valley is rich in religion, culture and ancient arts. Tsum valley is said that the Buddhist Siant Milarepa had Meditated in the caves of their mountains. Tsum valley is the home of Mu Gompa, historic monasteries, and including Rachen Gompa.

The trials along the trekking route give an impeccable feeling as the surrounding itself is so calm and soothing. Then heading towards the west crossing comes a classic pass, Larkya La situated at an altitude of 5135 m. from where one gets an opportunity to immerse oneself in the panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayas including Himlung, Manaslu, Annapurna, and Ganesh.     Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal

    Upon your arrival at the Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Rugged Trails Nepal who will take to your hotel. Welcome drinks upon arrival at the hotel, free time until 6 pm. Evening welcome dinner in a traditional Nepali Restaurant with authentic Nepali cuisine and cultural program.Overnight in Kathmandu Hotel. If you arrive late at night then your dinner will be on the next day.

    Full Day Kathmandu Sightseeing and Trek preparation day.

    After breakfast proceeds our short guided sightseeing tour at the Swayambhunath Temple. After the Swayambhunath temple, we will visit another UNESCO World Heritage sites Patan Durbar Square, and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath), which is also one of the largest stupas in the world.

    After sightseeing drives back to the hotel and briefing of our rest of trip plan. At the same time if you have to buy any trekking gears or things for the rest of the days Guide will help take you to the trekking equipment store in Thamel.

    Today we will arrange the special trek permits and Manaslu Conservation permits. It takes one working day to prepare the permits.

    Drive from Kathmandu to Sotikhola.

    Our Guide will come to your hotel in the morning and a scenic drive through local villages, town, rivers. Kathmandu, Malekhu, Arughat to Sotikhla drive. We will stay at Soti Khola and start walking the next day.

    Your breakfast will be ready in the morning, guide will take breakfast order before going to bed. While coming to the breakfast pack your bag so the porter can leave early. After the breakfast at the lodge our Manaslu Circuit journey starts through the beautiful landscapes, forests, ridge, rivers and beautiful waterfalls. Tumar Khola and Budhi Gandaki roaring sounds is another beautiful part of this trail. We have to walk over the cliffs ridge, rivers so please follow the guide. Overnight at Machha Khola.

Is Manaslu Larkya La Pass trek difficult?

  • Larkya La Pass, not that extremely difficult like mentioned in Lonely Planet, all is about to acclimatization. On this trek there will be acclimatization days but yeah you have to be physically fit.

What kind of food can I expect on Manaslu Tsum trekking?

  • The foods we can order from the menu, some places like Samdo and Dharmasala food is okay but our guide will take care before ordering food. For vegetarians and Vegan don't worry we will arrange both. 

Can I trek myself to Manaslu Tsum Circuit Trek routes?

  • Some trekkers often buy an extra permit for a ghost Trekker and then go along with a guide but according to the rules, you must trek as a group at least 2 and accompanied by a government registered guide. Government registered trekking companies only can issue a Manaslu trekking permit.

What is the best time for Trek Manaslu Tsum Valley?

  • March to May and mid-September to mid-December is the best time.
