During and after this trek, you will feel rejuvenated. Beyond the sunny skies giving you Vitamin D, scientific studies have shown that nature has truly healing properties that lower blood pressure and alleviate symptoms of several mental illnesses.  Take a break from your phone, computer, etc. and let the people and places right in front of you be your entertainment. immersed in the precious village culture.

Our path begins from Phedi, after a winding ride from Pokhara. Our first magical stop in Dhampus. This little picturesque village is not only a superb viewpoint for the mountains, but it is also a perfect display of the hillside village culture. Learn about the day to day lifestyle of the Gurung ethnic group. Relax, take it slow, and enjoy spending time with the villagers. You will have much to learn from their simple, but hard-working way of life.

Can we do 2 days trek from Pokhara?

  • Yes, Dhampus Sarangkot can be done within 2 days from Pokhara.

The next day’s destination is Sarangkot, famous in Nepal for its sweeping view of Himalayan peaks, including Dhaulagiri (8167 meters), Machhapucchhare (6997 meters), Annapurna II (7937 meters), and Lamjung Himal (6983 meters). In and around Sarangkot, there are several sweet viewpoints. There is the viewing tower, though if it's crowded, we take a short walk to some lesser-known spots. The views at sunrise and sunset are most spectacular. The transformation of color illuminated on the mountains is almost supernatural – the kind of thing that turns non-believers into believers.

Weave your way through terraced hills, reflecting on the awe-inspiring beauty you have witnessed over the past several days. The trail ends at Phewa Lake, from where we can walk or drive further to Pokhara. This lakeside city is an experience in itself. Experience its laidback vibe as you stroll along the lakeside.

Best Time to Trek in Dhampus

Trekking is possible throughout the year, but Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) provide the best weather.  During the Spring, there is a bit more color and the rhododendrons are blooming, and in the Autumn months, the skies are generally clearer.  During the monsoon season, though, there are fewer tourists. Each season has its perks.
