Ghorepani Poon Hill is situated in the Annapurna Conservation Area Project, trekkers walk through the Oak forest full of birds, green hills, and mixed mountain valleys. The trekkers do not have any risk of getting altitude sickness while doing Ghorepani Trekking in the Annapurna region. Poon Hill Trek is one of the best selling short treks from Pokhara. This trek is popular because of great views and can be done within a short time. Starting from the Nayapul, Ghorepani trek follows the ridge of beautiful Modi Khola. Then it crosses the Gurung villages and rice fields. It is a steep climb to Ulleri from Tikhedhunga and walks through the rhododendron and oak forest to the Ghorepani.
The early morning hike up to Poon hill is wonderful and you can see the Himalayan views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna, Nilgiri, Fishtail, Manaslu, Lamjung, Chulu peak and the beautiful green hill vistas of the surrounding areas. Poonhill hike early morning then head to Tadapani again through the rhododendron forest. If you come in spring to trek in Ghorepani, you do not want to return to anywhere and desired to stay longer, the whole forest becomes colorful by the Rhododendron flowers. Ghandruk, another beautiful village is also known as the village of Gurkhas. The costumes and culture of the local people are fabulous. Then the trip drives to Pokhara via Nayapul.
