Manaslu Circuit Trail Update – Rugged Trails Nepal [05-01-2026]

📍 Current Location: Lho Village

The mountains have a way of surprising us! Despite the recent rain across Nepal making the weather less than ideal, our group was incredibly lucky today in Lho village. The clouds parted just enough to gift us this stunning, crystal-clear view of the majestic peaks. It’s a reminder of why we trek—those fleeting, golden moments make every rainy step worth it.

The Path Ahead

Our team is now pushing further into the heart of the Nubri Valley. Over the next few days, we will be moving towards:

  • Shyala & Samagaun: Entering the high alpine zone where the Tibetan-influenced culture and monasteries truly come alive.
  • Larkya La Pass: The ultimate goal at 5,106m.

Weather Forecast & Trail Conditions

Looking ahead for the team as they approach the pass:

  • Samagaun (May 2–4): Expect light snow during the day with high temperatures around 1°C to 2°C. Nighttime temperatures will hover around -2°C to -3°C.
  • Larkya La Pass: Conditions remain cold and wintery. While the pass is crossable, be prepared for freezing temperatures (dropping to -10°C at night) and potential afternoon flurries.
  • Visibility: While afternoons may see some cloud build-up and haze typical of May, mornings are expected to offer the best window for those iconic Himalayan panoramas

Current Status

The trail is open, but trekkers should be prepared for slippery sections due to the recent rain and use micro-spikes for any hardened ice near the pass. Let’s hope the mountain gods keep smiling on our group for a successful and scenic crossing of the Larkya La!
