The high-altitude paradise destination of Rara Lake trekking is one of the more popular trekking routes in Nepal, that's blanketed by a serenity you can find nowhere else on Earth. The Rara Lake is the centerpiece of the Rara National Park, lies at an altitude of 2,990m (9,810ft) above sea level and also an ideal location for the bird watcher. Nepal's largest lake, Rara Lake is 5km long and 3km wide, its maximum depth at 167km. The area around the Lake itself is a heaven on earth. Its high altitude views, crystal clear water with breathtaking reflections of the Himalayan mountain ranges cast off from it, surrounding juniper forest and the nearby Cypress Lake is an ideal spiritual getaway for locals and foreigners looking to unplug themselves away from the pressures of modern-day life. It's as close to a fairy tale as one can get here in Nepal.
