Many travelers think that visiting Nepal in the monsoon season is a terrible time. But we Rugged Trails Nepal are saying monsoon is the best time to visit in Nepal. Nepal is an agricultural country and Nepal's major economy is from agriculture.

Trekkers who visit Nepal say Dal Bhat power 24 hrs but few travelers know how the Bhat (rice) is planted in Nepal. Paddy plantation has a deeply rooted cultural and livelihood importance.

Nepal monsoon season Paddy plantation or locally we call it as Ropai Jatra is celebrated in a more bigger and traditional way in rural parts of Nepal. Cattle husbandry is still a major occupation for a self-sustaining and running household for agriculture.

Ropai Jatra ( paddy plantation day) is a time of happiness among Nepalese people. With the arrival of monsoon, paddy seeds are sowed and nurtured to make the plant ready to be replanted later, which is in the festival time. Meanwhile, the fields are plowed and leveled. Monsoon rains soon make, the field muddy and wet making it a perfect condition for planting of paddy. The semi grown paddy plant is uprooted and replanted in the muddy fields.

We are calling you to join this celebration in Nepal with local Nepalese families in a traditional way. Stay with local, work with local, cook with local, learn and exchange with locals. It will allow you to enjoy the joy of planting, understanding Nepal's agricultural practices, and playing with mud will bring back the child in you.

2 Nights 3 days Paddy Plantation tour is completely staying in a village so make sure you are ready to join with us. Worried about health and security? We will take care of it and foods will be hygienic and organic vegetables from the farm.
