Langtang is a narrow valley situated south of the Tibetan border. It is inhabited by Tibetans and Tamangs, who share a similar religion, language, and clothing. A Langtang, Gosaikunda, and Helambu trek offers great diversity in nature, exciting ethnic groups, and culture. Langtang trek is relatively less crowded than other classic trails like the Annapurna region and the Everest region.
This trek combines the remote and spectacular valley of Langtang, with the high mountain lakes at Gosaikunda. Langtang is one of the best trekking routes in Nepal because of beautiful forests and very interesting villages of Sherpas, Tamang, with an abundance of wildlife, waterfalls, and a chance to bathe in hot springs. The Sherpa are quite distinct from the Sherpas of Everest Region both in language and customs. Langtang region offers excellent views of Mountains that include Langtang, the Annapurnas, Manaslu, Ganesh, Gaurishanker, Rolwaling range and even Everest on a clear day. This trek is a pleasant and exciting journey, a time to relax and become immersed in the beauty of the Himalayas.
Langtang, Gosaikunda, and Helambu trek starts from Syabrubes after 8 hours scenic ride from ancient city Kathmandu. Following the Trisuli River north of Kathmandu, we travel through Trisuli Bazaar and Dhunche to Syabrubensi, a Sherpa village located at the very edge of Langtang National Park. Kyangin Gompa, where we stop overnight is famous for local yak cheese and Gompa. Gosaikunda Lake and alpine yak pasture of Kyangin Gompa, while the mountain views are genuinely inspiring. Over the years this Gosainkunda Lake has become one of the holy pilgrimage sites for Shamans, the traditional witch doctors, as well as many Hindu and Buddhist devotees.
