Looking for a rugged and off-beaten trek in the Annapurna region? Congratulations! You landed on the right page. Kopra Danda Trek is one of the best community treks in the Annapurna region and a bit off-beaten trail with amazing mountain views. The Kopra Danda Trek, also known as Khopra Ridge, is a moderately difficult trekking route in the Annapurna region. Nowadays, the Khopra Danda Khayer Lake Trek is one of the best trekking routes in Annapurna Region for beginners as well.

Khopra Danda is a great alternative trekking route to commercial and crowded treks in Annapurna like the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek. However, we will be staying a night in Ghorepani.  Khopra Ridge is one of the best viewpoints and has magnificent panoramic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna I, II, III, and south, Hiunchuli, Mt. Fishtail, Mt. Lamjung Himal, and Mt. Nilgiri. Trekking in an unknown touristic area means you will be able to see the unchanged lifestyle, typical cultures, and preserved local heritage places.

Khopra-Danda Khayer Lake Trek Highlights

  • Witness breathtaking 360-degree panoramas of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, II, III, and South, Hiunchuli, Fishtail, Lamjung Himal, and Nilgiri from Khopra Ridge, a hidden gem viewpoint.

  • Enjoy a moderate trek with a maximum elevation of 3640m, suitable for both experienced and beginner trekkers.
  • Embark on an optional day hike to the sacred Khayer Lake at 4660m for truly stunning mountain vistas.

Khopra Danda Trek starts from Pokhara after Kathmandu UNESCO heritage sites sightseeing. For the first few days, we will be walking the most popular Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek trail. Poon Hill viewpoint will welcome you with a 360-degree panoramic sunrise of the mountains. Another best part of this trek is the Mulde Hill viewpoint in Dobato. We will be visiting this place as well. We will pass through rice fields, rhododendron forests, juniper, and other trees with tropical bushes. This trek will give you a chance to learn about the different ethnic cultures and lifestyles of different people because you will see numerous Tibetan, Buddhist, and Hindu temple shrines. In the meantime, the maximum elevation of this trek is 3640 m, but a day hike up to Kayer Lake is about 4660m.
