    Cultural Kathmandu City Tour.

    Pashupatinath Temple: 5 km east of Kathmandu on the bank of a sacred Bagmati river. Temple of Lord Shiva, Pashupatinath, tiered golden roof & silver door is best and famous for its marvelous architecture. On the main temple precinct, only the Hindus are allowed to go inside and forbidden for non-Hindus. The best view of the temple is from the terrace on the wooded hill across the Bagmati river. This temple was built in 1696 AD though 300 years earlier. Dharamsala and cremation ghats are lined at Bagmati river bank. Cremation in progress on one of the platforms by a river, regarded as holy as it flows into the sacred Ganges. During the Women Festival (Teej), there will be hundreds of women with the finest red and gold saris are seen laughing, singing, and worshiping Lord Shiva. Shivaratri (the day of lord shiva,) is another great time to visit Pashupatinath temple. ‘Some people say that” Shivaratri is the birthday of lord shiva”, but that’s not because there is nothing mentioned about Shiva birth in any Hinduism. Boudhanath Stupa: 8kms away from Kathmandu, Boudhanath is the biggest stupa in Nepal and the pilgrimage center for Buddhists and many Tibetans living in Nepal. Mostly Tibetan Lamas and Rinpoches reside in the surrounding area of Boudhanath stupa. You can see 108 images of Buddha and 147 insets containing prayer wheels. Swoyambhunath Stupa: From the main city Kathmandu Swoyambhunath is 45 minutes walk on top of green hillock west of Kathmandu. Believe that patriarch Manjushri discovered the lotus of the ancient valley lake, where Stupa is situated now. The painted eyes of Stupa Swoyambhunath are the center of Buddhist learning. From here you can see the great view of Kathmandu valley and on a clear day can see the Himalayas.

    Kathmandu Drive to Lumbini.

    Explore Birth Place Lumbini.

    Lumbini, Birthplace of Shakyamuni Gautam Buddha is the pilgrimage destination of the world’s Buddhists. 8 sq Kms spread sacred garden, Ashoka’s commemorative pillar, Lumbini Museum, Queen Mayadevi, and her bath sacred pond Puskarni is the main attraction place of Lumbini. Kapilvastu is 27kms west of Lumbini which was the Sakya Kingdom where the Buddha spent his youth as Prince Siddhartha.

    Lumbini - Kathmandu - Namobuddha.

    Fly from Lumbini to Kathmandu and drive to Nagarkot. 2 hours drive. Namobuddha: “Hail to the Buddha”, a sacred site of legend Buddhist price sacrificed his body to feed a starving tigress and her cubs. Buddhist from all over travel in Nepal, they visit this place and some of them spend their night at the Monastery where there are limited rooms. Some travelers hike from Dhulikhel to Namobuddha.
